Most scholarships below use a single shared General Application. Completing the General Application once considers you for every general-pool scholarship you qualify for. You do not need to apply to each one separately.
A few scholarships have their own Dedicated Application with extra questions or materials. Those are clearly labeled on each card.
Note: Application links are active only while scholarship applications are open for the current academic year. After the deadline, links will be unavailable until applications reopen next year. See How to Apply for full instructions.

Apply via General ApplicationHow to Apply
A student guide to applying for Pierce College Foundation scholarships through the NextGen platform.
Read this first
You do not pick which scholarships to apply for. Your application does. Submit one application and the system matches you, automatically, to every scholarship you qualify for. The more thoroughly you fill it out, the more money you can be awarded.
The Foundation offers about 22 scholarships. There are only 4 application forms:
- 1.The General Application: one form that considers you for roughly 19 scholarships at once. Most students only need this one.
- 2-4.Three Dedicated Applications: Bernard Osher, Victoria Principal, and KBKG each have their own form, on top of the General Application.
To apply, use the Apply buttons on this page. Do not try to apply by searching for a scholarship by name inside NextGen. That's not how the system works.
Ready to apply?
Submit every one of the 4 applications you qualify for. Each is a real award you can receive.
Start Here: How Scholarship Applications Work
The Foundation for Pierce College uses a scholarship platform provided by NextGen. To apply for most scholarships, you complete one general scholarship application. That single application is used to consider you for many different awards.
How to Access the NextGen System
Access the Portal
Log into your account at mycollege.laccd.edu using your student ID and password.
Navigate to Scholarships
From your Student Homepage, select "Key Links & Help," then choose "Scholarships."
Enter the NextGen Platform
You'll be redirected to the NextGen scholarship platform and prompted to "Login Here" under Student Login.
Once Inside NextGen
The main page is the Scholarship Search. Many fields in the application will be auto-populated with your data from the Student Information System. Do not start by searching for a scholarship by name. Continue to step 2.
Do Not Search First
When you reach the Scholarship Search page, you may be tempted to look up a specific scholarship by name and apply to it directly. Do not start there. Browsing or searching for a scholarship is not the same as applying for it.
Students who only search for scholarships by name often submit no application at all and are not considered for any awards. The search tool is for exploring opportunities, not for applying.
Use an Apply Button (Not the Search)
The easiest path is to use the Apply buttons on this page. Each scholarship card above has its own button that opens the correct application, either the General Application or one of the three Dedicated Applications.
If you are already inside NextGen, look for the green "Apply Now" button near the top of the Scholarship Search page. That button starts the General Application. Don't search for a scholarship by name and click into it. Searching is not applying.
Complete Every Application You Qualify For
The General Application asks about your enrollment, academic background, financial need, and goals. Many fields will be pre-filled with data already on record at Pierce College.
You don't choose your scholarships. Your application chooses them for you. Every question you answer can match you to a new scholarship. Skipping optional questions and short answers means leaving money on the table.
Treat the application like it's worth real dollars, because it is. A thorough application can be the difference between one award and several.
Apply directly from here:
Submit every one you qualify for. Reviewers decide eligibility, not you.
How Matching Works
Once you submit the General Application, NextGen automatically matches your responses to scholarships you may qualify for. You do not pick scholarships à la carte. The system does the work for you. Your single application places you in the review pool for every award whose criteria you appear to meet.
This is the upside: a student who fills out the application thoroughly can be considered for many scholarships at once, with no extra work. A student who rushes through it limits how much they can be awarded.
Why You May Not See Every Scholarship
You may not see every scholarship you are matched to inside NextGen. That does not mean you are not being considered. Reviewers can still include your general application in the review pool for scholarships that don't appear on your dashboard.
In short: an award not showing in your account is not a rejection, and it is not a reason to contact the Foundation or the scholarship's donor.
When Additional Questions or Documents Are Required
Some scholarships require more than the general application. After you submit, you may be shown additional opportunities that ask for one or more of the following:
- A short essay or personal statement
- An unofficial transcript
- A letter of recommendation from Pierce College faculty
- Answers to additional eligibility questions
Complete each of these supplemental requests to be considered for that specific award. Skipping a supplemental request removes you from consideration for that scholarship only. Your general application stays active for the others.
Try This First
Before you email anyone, check below. Almost every question we get has a simple answer right here.
"It asked me to log in. What do I use?"
Your LACCD student ID and password. That's the same one you use for mycollege.laccd.edu. If your password won't work, reset it at mycollege.laccd.edu. The Foundation cannot reset your password.
"I logged into NextGen but I don't see any scholarships listed."
Normal. Don't search by name. Click the green Apply Now button near the top of the page and complete the General Application. After you submit, NextGen will surface any scholarships that need extra info.
"I'm not sure I qualify for anything."
You don't have to know. The application figures it out for you. Your answers are checked against every scholarship in the system automatically. You just need to fill out the form completely. The more you share, the more scholarships you can be matched to. Not applying guarantees zero.
"Can I save my work and come back later?"
Yes. NextGen saves your progress automatically. Log back in any time before the deadline to finish.
"I submitted but I don't see any results or matches."
Normal. You won't always see every scholarship you're matched to. Reviewers still consider your application. Recipients are notified May 30, 2026 by email.
"I want Bernard Osher / Victoria Principal / KBKG."
Each has its own application. Scroll up to that scholarship's card and click its Apply button. You should also submit the General Application to be considered for the other ~19 scholarships.
"I missed the deadline."
The deadline is firm. No exceptions. Applications reopen next academic year. Set a calendar reminder for April.
"My situation is complicated."
Use the essay sections of the application to explain. Reviewers read essays and consider context. Don't email asking whether to apply. Just apply.
Who to Contact for Help
If you checked the "Try This First" section above and still need help, you can reach the Foundation here:
- 📧 [email protected]
- 🏫 For login or password problems at mycollege.laccd.edu, contact the Pierce College Financial Aid Office, not the Foundation.
Contact us well before the deadline. Last-minute messages may not be answered in time, and missed deadlines cannot be extended.
Do Not Contact Donors About Applications
Scholarship donors do not manage the application process and cannot help you apply, check status, or improve your chances. Contacting them about your application, even with good intentions, can disqualify you from consideration.
All questions about applying, eligibility, status, or matching go to the Foundation for Pierce College (see step 8). Donors only hear from recipients after awards are made, through the thank you letter process.
If You Are Awarded a Scholarship
Recipients must submit a thank you letter to the scholarship donor before funds are released. Awards are disbursed through Bank Mobile two to three months after selection. Recipients have 60 days to claim their award. Unclaimed funds return to the Foundation.
